I personally feel that any time you go on vacation, you should get the party started before you leave with a fun, bright, and/or quirky nail look. It just gets you in the mood, you know what I mean? Here are four lovely looks I spotted on the red carpet this week that would be great for just such an occasion.

There was the orange pedicure Angie Harmon wore on the TCA tour:

The fun blue glitter look I spotted on singer-actress JoJo:

This purple shade on Jennifer Lawrence is memorable—both sweet and energetic:

And then for you more playful types, Kaley Cuoco went out and wore black-and-blue-striped nail art for ya:

Why am I talking about vacation nails? Well, I'm taking next week off to rest and recharge. But Petra and Amy will be around to hold down the fort as usual, and two great writers, Marissa Gold and Cheryl Wischhover, will be helping fill in the gaps. Everyone, be on your best behavior, OK? I don't want to hear about any blowups over lipstick when I get back.

My vacation nail polish pick? I went with Essie DJ Play that Song, a neon pinky purple that says "I might sleep late every day next week, but I'll be doing it with jazz hands."
